Speech and language therapist required
for maternity cover 15 May 2017 – February 2018

Thank you for your interest in the post of speech and language therapist at Woodcroft.

Woodcroft School is a family owned independent special school in beautiful surroundings on the edge of Epping Forest. The National Autistic Society accredits our provision and we meet the Investors in People standards for staff development. We are looking to appoint a full or part time Speech and language therapist for a fixed term maternity cover from 12 May 2017 to February 2018.

Woodcroft is able to offer its speech and language therapists:

  • a high level of therapy input for a small caseload of pupils;
  • a multi-disciplinary, integrated approach to working across the curriculum;
  • support within an established multi-disciplinary team, including music, occupational and physiotherapy;
  • an NAS accredited setting;
  • a full-time therapy assistant;
  • opportunities for working with professionals and families across many local authorities;
  • opportunities for involvement at senior management level;
  • a good budget for resources and professional training;
  • a mainly term time contract with a 37 week academic year; and
  • external supervision.

Membership of Health Professions Council and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists is essential, experience of working with children with complex needs is desirable. A person specification is included in the following job description.

General school hours for this post are from 08.30–16.30 with a 30 minute paid break. Statutory paid holiday of 5.6 weeks pro rata is included.

The pay range is £27,617 to £36,890 pro rata dependent on relevant experience. Our school academic year runs for 37 weeks, which includes 5 inset days.
